An introduction to epilepsy including rectal Diazepam and buccal Midazolam.

50% of people with epilepsy develop seizures by the age of 25. Many who develop epilepsy before the age of 20 are likely to grow out of it. With the correct treatment approximately 70% of people could be seizure free. Epilepsy can affect anyone, at any age and from any walk of life.

By the end of the session you will be able to:-

  • Describe what epilepsy is and the different types of seizure.
  • Describe the first aid given during and following a seizure.

This session covers the theory and practical elements of seizure management.
